Trading sessions — NY, London, Asia

When the big money trades. Which session matters for your market, and which hours kill your edge.

Liquidity isn't constant through the day. The London open and the New York open (and their overlap) carry the bulk of daily volume in FX and most large-cap equities; the Asia session is comparatively quiet and range-bound outside of Asia-listed assets.

Trading a breakout strategy during a low-liquidity session is asking for false signals — the move looks real on a thin book and reverses the second real volume shows up. Match your strategy's need for volatility to the session that actually supplies it.
